Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago) may join Guy Pearce for the movie Death Defying Acts, based on the life of magician Harry Houdini.Gillian Armstrong will direct the film from a screenplay by Tony Grisoni and Brian Ward. Death Defying Acts takes place during the height of Houdini's career in 1926 when the famed magician was in demand across the globe. Zeta-Jones would play Houdini's lover (Rachel Weisz had been rumored to be in negotiations for the part in July 2005).
Filming is expected to begin this summer.
