Phoenix Pictures released the following synopsis of "Pathfinder," a movie based on the findings of 1,000 year-old Norse artifacts and inspired by Nils Gaup's film, "Ofelas": The film centers on a boy left behind by the Norsemen 15 years prior to their return to the New World. The child is raised by American Indians. When Norsemen storm the eastern shores, once again waging a barbaric campaign, they slaughter the tribe that adopted him. Now 25, the man decides to stop the Norsemen's trail of death and destruction. In the process, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery as he comes to terms with his heritage.
Mike Medavoy, Arnold Messer and Marcus Nispel are producing "Pathfinder" with Bradley J. Fischer, Lee Nelson and John Jacobson serving as executive producers. Laeta Kalogridis ("Alexander") wrote the script.
20th Century Fox plans to release "Pathfinder" worldwide in 2006.
