The AP broke the news that one of this summer's highly-anticipated movies has a new title. No longer do we have to refer to the second film in the X-Files franchise as the Untitled X-Files Movie 2008. 20th Century Fox signed off on The X-Files: I Want to Believe. X-Files fans will recognize that slogan from a poster which hung in Mulder's office.

X-Files creator Chris Carter has had the title in mind from the beginning, but just got the go-ahead to use I Want to Believe as the film's permanent title from Fox. The studio and filmmakers are still keeping the plot a closely guarded secret, however it is known that this second X-Files movie will be a stand-alone story that they hope will satisfy long-time fans of the series as well as newcomers.

The series' stars - David Duchovny ('Fox Mulder') and Gillian Anderson ('Dana Scully') - both returned for this second feature film which will be hitting theaters on July 25, 2008, 10 years after the first X-Files movie.
