Not only are Phoenix and Witherspoon winning over critics for their portrayals of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, they're also impressing audiences with their singing ability. Director Mangold felt "Walk the Line" needed to be as realistic as possible so he asked both actors to perform the songs in the film. Their efforts are part of the soundtrack CD to the biopic released by 20th Century Fox and Wind-Up Records.
