Casting Update on Mark Wahlberg's Upcoming Movie

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 7, 2005 - Lead casting has been completed on "Untitled Mark Wahlberg Project," an action drama to be directed by John Singleton about four adopted brothers who band together to avenge the murder of their mother. Joining Mark Wahlberg, who was most recently seen on the big screen in "I Heart Huckabees" and Paramount's "The Italian Job" are Tyrese Gibson, Andre Benjamin, and Garrett Hedlund. Principal photography begins in Toronto on January 10, 2005.

Tyrese Gibson, who will next be seen in the upcoming "Annapolis," previously starred in Singleton's "2 Fast 2 Furious." Andre Benjamin, also known as Andre 3000, one half of the hip hop duo Outkast, will next be seen in "Be Cool," the upcoming sequel to "Get Shorty." Garrett Hedlund, who made his motion picture debut as part of the all-star cast in "Troy," was most recently seen in "Friday Night Lights."

Paramount Pictures presents "Untitled Mark Wahlberg Project," a di Bonaventura Pictures Production of a John Singleton Film. Directed by John Singleton from a screenplay by David Elliot & Paul Lovett, the film is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and executive produced by Ric Kidney.
