George Clooney may find himself to be a very, very busy man come awards season. Yes, that George Clooney - the guy from "Return of the Killer Tomatoes" and the 80's TV series "The Facts of Life." Granted, since his inauspicious start Clooney's progressed to the point where he's now regarded as one of Hollywood's most powerful actors. But you have to occasionally ground things in reality by showing where an actor came from in order to really appreciate just how far they've come. Plus, I just love mentioning the fact that Clooney co-starred with a giant red tomato.

With the critical success of "Good Night, and Good Luck" and the positive early reviews of "Syriana," Clooney's riding high in '05. That almost sounds like a campaign slogan, which is appropriate given how outspoken Clooney has become when it comes to taking a stand for causes he believes in.

Back to the point. Written and directed by Stephen Gaghan, "Syriana" stars George Clooney as a career CIA operative who discovers the disturbing truth about the work he has devoted his life to.

Warner Bros plans on unspooling "Syriana" in limited release on Nov. 23rd and wide release on December 9th.
