Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up.
Apparently writer/director Judd Apatow loves to work with the same group of actors over and over and over again. Just about everyone in the cast of
Knocked Up has worked with Apatow on some project in the past, be it
The 40 Year Old Virgin or the TV shows
Freaks and Geeks or
Undeclared. Seth Rogen, the star of
Knocked Up, tried his hand at explaining why it's always easy to say yes to working with Apatow. "We get along really well and if you can work with your friends, why not do it? It just kind of makes work feel like hanging out. And we have a very similar sense of humor so it just seems easy. That's why we do it. We're both lazy (laughing)."
In addition to Rogen, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Jason Segel, Jay Baruchel and Leslie Mann (otherwise known as Mrs Judd Apatow) star in Apatow's R rated comedy. The story follows Alison Scott (Katherine Heigl), a TV reporter who celebrates a promotion by getting drunk and sleeping with Ben (Rogen), a goofy guy she mets at a bar. Fast-forward 8 weeks and Alison has reason to regret her one night stand. Pregnant, Alison decides to include Ben in her plans but soon discovers they're not exactly a match made in Heaven.
Knocked Up gives birth to laughter on June 1, 2007.
