So what's been going on behind the scenes since we last caught up with Daniel Radcliffe ('Harry Potter'), Emma Watson ('Hermione Granger'), and Rupert Grint ('Ron Weasley')? Well, first there were months of rumors circulating about Watson supposedly expressing a desire to make this her last Harry Potter movie. That was all put to rest in March when Warner Bros Pictures confirmed Watson, Grint, and Radcliffe had all signed on to the final two Harry Potter movies. Watson was even quoted as saying, "I could never let Hermione go - she is my hero! I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me. I am excited and honoured to be finishing what I started and playing her in all seven of the films."
Next up was a minor brouhaha over Daniel Radcliffe's desire to take the lead in Equus during his downtime from starring in Harry Potter movies. Radcliffe took to the stage, baring it all (literally) and earning praise from critics for his performance. While the career move shocked some Harry Potter fans, Warner Bros stood by the actor and supported his decision to take on something completely different and totally unexpected.
The Premise: The Ministry of Magic denies Lord Voldemort is back but Harry, Hermione and Ron aren't about to let his return be hushed up. With Albus Dumbledore being undermined by Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge, it's up to the Hogwarts students to band together and prepare themselves to take on Lord Voldemort and his evil followers.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix brings magic to theaters on July 13, 2007.
