Samuel L Jackson fought with the studio when it was suggested the title of
Snakes on a Plane be changed. In fact when
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Jackson was set to star in the film for New Line Cinema,
THR listed the title of the thriller as
Pacific Air Flight 121. Now which film would
you pay money to see? The 'we're not taking this seriously, it's all just campy fun'
Snakes on a Plane or the terribly boring and terribly sedate
Pacific Air Flight 121? Hands down,
Snakes on a Plane has to be the best title of a film this year.
The name alone sells this film but apparently there's actually a story involved in Snakes on a Plane. Jackson plays an FBI agent escorting a witness aboard a plane bound for Los Angeles. Things turn dicey when a crimelord has hundreds of poisonous snakes released onboard the jet in order to kill the witness before he can testify. It sounds like a creepy good time will be had by all...
Snakes on a Plane slithers into theaters on August 18, 2006.
