Summer's the time of year when movie studios release the films they believe will be their big moneymakers. Kids are out of school, most of the shows on TV are reruns, and there's the added appeal of relaxing in an air-conditioned theater when it's too hot outside to want to do anything productive. This is the time of year when it's usually safe to check your brain at the door, buy a big tub of popcorn, and enjoy a little escapism. During the summer, comedy is king.
