The President of the United States (Dennis Quaid) wakes up one morning and discovers the public is more interested in who wins a televised talent show (think American Idol) than important political issues. This depresses him to the point where he's no longer willing or able to function as the President. To combat the President's depression and to pump up his standing with people across America, the President's Chief of Staff (Willem Dafoe) comes up with the brilliant idea of having one of the most powerful men on the face of the planet serve as a guest judge on the hit television show that captivates America's citizens.
