So far the movies released in 2006 haven't exactly lit up the charts, but things are hopefully going to change as spring hits and the mostly wasted months of January and February are past us. While the first two months of the year are generally considered to be the dumping ground for films studios need to get off their shelves, typically in the spring studios begin releasing the movies they have higher expectations of (i.e. those movies with greater box office potential).
Although four of the movies listed here - Mission Impossible 3, Poseidon, The Da Vinci Code, and X-Men: The Last Stand - are ones you might consider big summer popcorn flicks, these are all actually set for release before the official start of summer.
