2009 Oscar Hopefuls - Hitting Theaters in Winter 2009
Studios looking to collect some Oscar glory usually hold off until winter to make sure their award-worthy films are fresh in the minds of critics groups/others who vote on year-end awards. Normally only a handful of films released prior to the end of October have attracted any real Oscar buzz.

2009 Fall Movie Preview
The hot summer months are behind us, signaling the time of year when studios get serious and unleash their dramas. The closer we draw to December, the more potential award-winners hit theaters. But unlike years past, the fall movie season of 2009 doesn't contain many clear-cut Oscar nominees.

2009 Comedy Movie Preview
Comedies did well in 2008 with moviegoers looking to escape the harsh economic times by heading to theaters for a few laughs. Only time will tell if 2009's batch of comedy movies will go over just as big as last year's laffers, but there are a few on this list that should be box office hits due to their built-in audiences.

Action Movie Preview
2008 brought us an amazing amount of superhero films, including one of the best reviewed films of the genre - "The Dark Knight." 2009 doesn't in any way compare to what 2008 served up superhero-wise, but it does have its fair share of action-heavy films, summer popcorn movies, and a couple of highly anticipated comic book-inspired films.
