Director Bryan Singer left the "X-Men" franchise for a shot at reviving the "Superman" film franchise at Warner Bros Pictures. Singer's track record shows he knows how to handle comic book adaptations and he can direct action sequences. Solely based on the reception Singer got after showing an extended montage of "Superman Returns" clips at the 2005 San Diego Comic Con, it looks like with the new Man of Steel movie he's expanding on his rep as the go-to director for comic book films.
It's uncanny how much ex-soap opera actor Brandon Routh looks like a younger version of Christopher Reeve, the man who donned Superman's cape and tights for the last four "Superman" movies. Yet despite the fact Routh does resemble Reeve, he also looks much younger than the talented actor whose shoes Routh has the tough task of trying to fill. I'm hoping the age difference is either explained or becomes a non-issue after watching the finished film.
