As disappointed as I was in the second Pirates film, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict the third one, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, will be as much swashbuckling fun as the first one. The second movie set sail in a totally different direction than Curse of the Black Pearl and I may very well wind up eating my words, but I honestly believe the third film will recapture the fun and frolicking good time of the original. Why do I wholeheartedly believe this to be true? Because I trust that Gore Verbinski and company listened to the complaints regarding Dead Man's Chest and are determined to win back those who felt letdown by Pirates 2. I also want to believe Verbinski and the cast and crew want to go out on a high note, if this is indeed the last Pirates tale they get to tell.
The Story - Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) are forced to work with Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) to help Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) get free from Davy Jones' locker. Their quest to free Captain Jack takes them to Singapore where Chinese pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat) is waiting for them. And according to Walt Disney's Pictures' official synopsis, they must all choose up sides in a battle in which the "entire future of the freedom-loving Pirate way" of life is at stake.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End sails into theaters on May 25, 2007.
