'Twilight' Two-Disc Special Edition DVD

The Bottom Line

The phenomenon that is Twilight is hard to understand unless you're a part of it. Stephenie Meyer's 4-part book series features a family of vegetarian vampires and the sensitive girl who falls in love with the youngest member of the family. The books are bestsellers and the first film of the series proved to be a huge success at the box office. The film version stays faithful to the book and made stars out of the two leads - Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Guide Review - 'Twilight' 2-Disc Special Edition DVD Review

The Story

Newcomer to town Bella falls hard for Edward, a gorgeous boy who's also an outsider at school. As Bella's infatuation grows, she discovers there's a good reason Edward and his family aren't embraced by the populace. They're vampires, but not the type that suck blood from humans. These vamps feast on animal blood, and that's fine with Bella who doesn't care what Edward is. She's in love, and the feeling's mutual...

The Bonus Features

Deleted Scenes:
Director Hardwicke says they loved these five deleted scenes but due to pace, they had to be chopped out of the movie. Now Twilight fans get to see a short clip of Emmett telling Edward Bella's not one of them (part of this scene used in the film's trailer), Bella's first dream of Edward (sexier than anything used in the movie), and Kristen's personal favorite scene. Carlisle and Esme discuss Edward's attraction to Bella in a short-but-sweet clip and the bad vampires swap some spit in the last deleted scene of the batch. These five added in would have improved the film. Too bad they didn't make the final cut.

Extended Scenes
Hardwicke introduces each of the five extended scenes which, like the deleted scenes, would have actually worked great in the film.

The Comic Con Phenomenon
Didn't make it to San Diego? This featurette makes you feel like you've got a front row seat at the event.

The Adventure Begins: The Journey from Page to Screen
This 7 part series examines every aspect of bringing Stephenie Meyer's Twilight book alive on film. Get a behind the scenes look at the production of the film including casting the movie, the action scenes, and even a bit on vampire baseball.

Commentary Track
Hardwicke, Stewart and Pattinson team up to discuss the film in a commentary track that's both entertaining and enlightening.

Additional Material
The 2-disc DVD also has music videos and trailers for Twilight.

Twilight-Possibly the best movie of the year, Member mysterious6

Catherine Hardwick captures the feeling of sexual tension in the movie oerfectly, BUT i dont think that she should have added a few unnecessary scenes, but i must applaud her for the ending it was AWESOME!!! amd Rob Pattinson played the role of Edward Cullen perfectly, so did Kristen Stewart as her role as Isabella Marie Swan (Bella), all in all this is a great movie, if you havent seen it then you are a loser!!!!!!
