Guide Review - Transformers Two-Disc Special Edition DVD Review
The StoryShia LaBeouf stars as Sam Witwicky, a high school kid who's trying to earn money by selling off his great-great-grandfathers possessions on eBay. The items were used by his long-deceased relative while making an important discovery in the Arctic.
But there's more to Sam's great-great-grandfathers story than meets the eye. It seems Sam's desire to bulk up his bank account has alerted two rival groups of robots - the Autobots (the good guys) and the Decepticons (the bad guys) - of the whereabouts of something they desperately need to get their robot hands (or claws or whatever) on. Even the US military gets pulled into the robot war as the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.
The Bonus Features
The Two-Disc Special Edition DVD is crammed with so many behind-the-scenes featurettes, you'll need to devote at least an entire evening to viewing just the bonus material. Want to know how Shia LaBeouf wound up in the lead? Interested in just how Michael Bay and company decided on Optimus Prime's look? Are you a fan of Skorponok? Everything you ever wanted to know about Transformers and were afraid to ask is included on this special edition DVD.
The only feature you may want to skip is the commentary track. If you're a fan of Michael Bay, go ahead and listen. Or if you want to hear Bay talk about Spielberg, the Internet, and ideas he has for Transformers 2, then listen away. But if you're not a fan of Michael Bay going in, he will definitely not win you over with this audio track.
