Writer/director Kevin Munroe was a huge fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles prior to signing up for the CGI animated TMNT. One of Munroe's greatest challenges in bringing the Turtles back to the big screen was in finding a way to satisfy older Turtles fans and the younger audience who may not be as familiar with the heroes in a half shell.
