There are a couple of women who we could classify as movie sweethearts (the ladies of recent cinema that so many people adore), and one of those certainly is Rachel McAdams. The versatile actress has shown her range of talent through a variety of movies throughout the years, including romantic films (The Notebook, Wedding Crashers, The Time Travelers Wife). She dips her feet into the genre once again in The Vow, a slightly somber but inspirational tale about love, directed by Michael Suscy (2009's critically acclaimed TV movie, Grey Gardens).

The story, based on real life events, follows newlyweds Leo (played by Channing Tatum) and Paige (Rachel McAdams) who fall victim to a horrible car accident that leaves Paige with a rather unique case of amnesia. She can remember everything about her life except for one thing: the five wonderful years of a relationship she had with Leo. Now he not only has to help her remember what they once had but to make her fall in love with him once more. It's a story that sounds too good to be true, but life has a funny way of being a bit surreal at times.

Kim and Krickitt Carpenter's true tale of love overcoming obstacles is slightly rare in this day and age where we deal with some of the highest divorce rates we've seen in awhile. It may seem like finding true love is near impossible to find these days, but plenty of people, including Ms. Adams, believe that it exists out there somewhere. "I do believe that you can fall in love with more than one person, but I think that there's that one person that comes along that you want to make a different kind of commitment to that may be, hopefully, forever... You're sort of allowed to take it in your own hands and make something really miraculous out of it."

Speaking of wonderful, that's definitely an adjective that Rachel McAdams would use to describe working with her The Vow co-star Channing Tatum. The two had a lot of laughs in front of and behind the camera, especially with a couple of scenes that involved eating a substantial amount of chocolate through multiple takes. "I felt like the kid who eats the candy in their whole Advent calendar in one day." Needless to say, the actress wasn't feeling too great when the takes began to pile up. "I was in a coma! It was a pure sugar coma."

At the end of the day, Rachel McAdams is grateful for the position she's been placed into thanks to the wonderful mentoring of her high school drama teacher. "I thank my drama teacher Ms. (Linda) Maskell Periera every day of my life for intercepting me on my way to college. She said 'What are you taking?' and I said 'Cultural studies! Don't ask me what that means.' She said 'I really thought that you would do theater.' I marched right into my guidance counselor's office, scratched out cultural studies, put in theater, and my whole life changed."

Now the actress continues to grace the big screen with her diverse roles, entertaining audiences around the world with her films. Watch Rachel McAdams in Screen Gems' The Vow when it comes out in theaters this February 10, 2012.
