Fans of The Spiderwick Chronicles book series, and anyone interested in the upcoming Nickelodeon Movies/Paramount Pictures movie inspired by the books, will be able to get a first-hand look at all things Spiderwick by checking out The Spiderwick Chronicles Experience, a mobile tour visiting 23 cities beginning November 10, 2007 and ending February 10, 2008. The Spiderwick Chronicles Experience tour will offer educational and interactive attractions including a behind-the-scenes look at how the many creatures of the film were brought to life onscreen through CGI.
The first stop on the tour will be the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota on Saturday, November 10th. Other cities on the tour include Seattle, Miami, Denver, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Houston and Atlanta. The Spiderwick Chronicles Experience will be part of The Hob Nobble Gobble charity event, the 81st Annual Americas Thanksgiving Parade, and Balboa Parks December Nights celebration in San Diego, CA. In a press release announcing the tour, The Spiderwick Chronicles director Mark Waters stated, We are very excited about being able to provide a three-dimensional, interactive introduction to The Spiderwick Chronicles movie across the country not only to fans of the books, but to an even broader audience.
The Spiderwick Chronicles Official Synopsis
Peculiar things start to happen the moment the Grace family (Jared, his twin brother Simon, sister Mallory and their mom) leave New York and move into the secluded old house owned by their great-great-uncle Arthur Spiderwick. Unable to explain the strange disappearances and accidents that seem to be happening on a daily basis, the family blames Jared. When he, Simon and Mallory investigate whats really going on, they uncover the fantastic truth of the Spiderwick estate and of the creatures that inhabit it.
The Spiderwick Chronicles hits theaters on February 15, 2008.
