OMalley describes his character as just a really regular guy. He wears his emotions on his sleeve and he goes for it. And when she breaks up with him he cares about her so much that he demonstrates his love for her by making an idiot out of himself. And that really is sometimes what we do in relationships, explained OMalley.
OMalley on What Interested Him in The Perfect Man: I think that there needs to be movies for teenagers where they show this affection and love for their parents, where theyre really rooting for them, and their parents arent just idiots who dont know anything about them. I think the relationship between the two ladies in this Hilary [Duff] and Heather [Locklear] is tremendous and it demonstrates that real well. In addition to that, its always fun to do a comedic movie.
Heathers character in this movie, she could really kind of dismiss my character for having the affection for her that she does. But her kindness really shines and shes very kind to me.
On Getting Close to Co-Star Heather Locklear: OMalley says that despite the fact he and Heather have a romantic storyline in the movie, they really didnt do anything special to develop any chemistry. We hung out a couple of times, Richie Sambora and Heather and I. Theyre great. I mean, shes got kids and Ive got kids. Off the set youre hanging out with your kids, you know?
Mike OMalley Describes the Perfect Woman: My wife. She married me. Shes an amazing mother to my children. Shes amazingly supportive of me my ups and downs. And she just comes to play every day.
