Synopsis: Set in New York City, "The Other Guys" follows Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell), a forensic accountant who's more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets, and Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg), a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city's top cops, Danson and Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don't quite go as planned.

Co-written and directed by Adam McKay, "The Other Guys" is a sort of buddy cop movie with surprising cameos and full of improvised lines (as you'd expect from the McKay/Ferrell team). Together for a press conference in LA to discuss the Columbia Pictures film, the cast and McKay provided some insight into life on the set of "The Other Guys."

On paper, the pairing of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in an buddy cop action comedy doesn't sound like the smartest move a filmmaker could make. But thanks to the unlikely chemistry between the two leads, and Wahlberg's surprising ability to be funny without overtly trying, "The Other Guys" is better than other recent buddy cop films.
