On One Hour and 20 Minutes Being Cut: "Its amazing to me when people follow the story still because we cut so much that I feel like youre getting snippets of what the story in long form was. (Laughing) People seem to understand it so thats good."
Cut Scenes and Evoking "It's a Wonderful Life:" "I dont think it had more references to 'Its a Wonderful Life.' What it was is, I think, a more elaborated love story. You know, in life I think that sometimes plots take time, and so I think you maybe thought the plots were more believable when you had a little bit more of them to listen to. But I think right now its kind of like the distilled, hyper-real or totally unreal version."
On "The Jacket" Being Marketed as a Horror Film: "Thats marketing. When I wrote it, it was a love story. Im not sure when we filmed it its a love story. I dont think its horror. I think theres something horrifying about being in a morgue drawer. But I dont necessarily think that that makes it a horror movie.
