Ryan Gosling Interview - The Ides of March

Ryan Gosling's having a terrific - and busy - 2011. He showed off his romantic side in Crazy, Stupid, Love, an adult romantic comedy with Steve Carell, Julianne Moore and Emma Stone, and demonstrated his ability to switch things up by tackling his first real action film with Drive. And in the political thriller The Ides of March, Gosling plays a political press secretary who is dedicated to getting his friend, Governor Mike Morris (George Clooney, who also directs), elected as President.

In this video courtesy of Columbia Pictures, Gosling talks about playing a political press secretary and his character's dilemma, the film's genre, the ensemble cast, and working with actor/director George Clooney.

The Ides of March stars Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, and Evan Rachel Wood, and will hit theaters on October 7, 2011.

The Ides of March Synopsis

The Ides of March takes place during the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary, when an up-and-coming campaign press secretary (Ryan Gosling) finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to upend his candidate’s shot at the presidency.
