Tate Taylor Interview - The Help
Writer/director Tate Taylor tackles his first big-budget studio production with the dramatic film The Help. The film is based on the bestselling novel by Kathryn Stockett, a close friend of Taylor's, and is set in Mississippi in the 1960s. And at DreamWorks Pictures' premiere held at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, Taylor talked about the importance of shooting in Mississippi, the cooperation of the neighborhood where the film was shot, pleasing the book's fans and author, having to leave out the Pecker Man, and the August release date.:
The Help stars Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, and Bryce Dallas Howard, and is set to hit theaters on August 10, 2011.
