Guide Review - "The Devil Wears Prada" DVD Review

Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) is fresh out of college and looking for a job as a writer. The closest she can get to actual journalism is applying for a job as the assistant to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), a woman who eats assistants for breakfast.

Andy's a fashion misfit who begins her job at Runway magazine, a prestigious fashion mag, without a clue as to who the top designers or are how to put together an ensemble that wows. Fortunately, Nigel (Stanley Tucci) takes pity on poor Andy and helps transform her from clueless to fashion princess.

As Andy learns the industry from the toughest woman around, she begins to understand what it takes to get ahead in the ruthless business. She also learns what it means to be a slave to work at the expense of her personal life.

DVD Bonus Features

Skip the commentary track unless you really want to know how and why certain styles were included in the film. The rest of the bonus features are much more entertaining and provide an interesting look at the fashion world. And don't miss the gag reel. It's fun to watch Streep and the rest of the cast screw up on film.
