Paul Bettany Joins the Cast of "The Da Vinci Code"

Paul Bettany ("Wimbledon") has joined the cast of the big screen adaptation of "The Da Vinci Code," based on the best-selling novel by Dan Brown.

Bettany joins Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Jean Reno and Ian McKellen for the movie version of the popular novel. Ron Howard is directing the film from a script by his "A Beautiful Mind" and "Cinderella Man" screenwriter, Akiva Goldsman. Brian Grazer and John Calley are producing "The Da Vinci Code."

Production on "The Da Vinci Code" is currently underway and Bettany's casting as Silas the albino was the final major role to be filled.

Bettany will next be seen in "Firewall" for director Richard Loncraine.
