Guide Review - "The Constant Gardener" DVD Review
The touching love story unfolds against the backdrop of the big-money pharmaceutical industry. Fiennes stars as diplomat Justin Quayle, a fair-minded man who attracts friends and supporters with his pleasant, unassuming demeanor. However when the love of his life (Weisz) is murdered, Justin sheds his timidity and obsessively pursues the killers.
Justin becomes immersed in the slimy world of unethical pharmaceutical bigwigs. Single-mindedly, he takes up the cause his wife fought for during her last years. Unable to tolerate lies from corporate officials, Justin passionately squares off with the makers of a deadly drug and puts his own life on the line as he attempts to end a global conspiracy.
"The Constant Gardener" Bonus Features
The featurettes are well done and provide enough interesting material to make viewing all three of the featurettes worthwhile. And although I'm a big supporter of commentary tracks, the fact this DVD doesn't include one isn't a real negative. The behind the scenes videos contain more than enough insight into the making of the film so there's really no need for additional commentary by the director or cast.
