Superman Will Soar Again

Director Bryan Singer will definitely be back for another Superman movie, according to Variety. Singer and WB will reunite on a Superman Returns sequel, with the still untitled Superman film aiming for a 2009 release.

When I interviewed Singer at the 2006 San Diego Comic Con he was positive he'd be returning to direct another Superman film. Variety reports it's a done deal, with Singer directing and producing another Superman movie at Warner Bros. Legendary Pictures is expected to co-finance the production.

There's no word yet on the storyline or cast (Superman Brandon Routh has signed on to a sequel), however the budget is expected to be less than that of Superman Returns. The involvement of Superman Returns screenwriters Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty has not been disclosed.
