James Mardsen from "X-Men" and Hugh Laurie from "Flight of the Phoenix" have joined the cast of "Superman," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Director Bryan Singer cast a relatively unknown actor, Brandon Routh, in the lead role of "Superman" and is busy surrounding him with familiar faces. Kevin Spacey recently joined the cast in the role of Lex Luthor and Kate Bosworth is in negotiations to play Lois Lane. According to The Hollywood Reporter, James Marsden has signed on to play Lois Lane's love interest. Hugh Laurie would take on the role of Perry White, the Daily Planet's editor-in-chief.

Bryan Singer's apparently filling out the cast of "Superman" with actors he's worked with before. Singer directed Spacey in "The Usual Suspects" and directed James Marsden in both "X-Men" movies. Singer's also an executive producer of the TV series, "House" in which Hugh Laurie stars.
