Guide Review - Superbad 2-Disc Unrated Extended Edition DVD Review
Best buddies Seth (Hill) and Evan (Cera) don't want to leave high school behind without first losing their virginity. Their plan: provide alcohol for a big blow-out and hope that will lead to scoring with one of the hotties. The problem: their plan depends on Fogel (Mintz-Plasse) using his fake 'McLovin' ID to buy the booze. Fogel/McLovin tries to do his part but hits a snag when the store he's patronizing gets held up, which then leads to a bizarre series of events involving two cops with twisted senses of humor.
The Bonus Features
Where to start? Seriously, the 2-Disc Unrated Extended Edition Superbad DVD has so many bonus features that it takes hours and hours to work your way through them all. The best of the lot is definitely the commentary track. While a lot of DVD commentary tracks that include the director, writers, actors and a producer all at once are worthless (the participants usually spend too much time complimenting each other), the Superbad commentary leaves you wanting more. It's just as funny as the film itself, and that's saying a lot.
As you'd expect, the gag reel is hysterical as is the 'Line-O-Rama' with alternate versions of specific lines. Truthfully, the only bonus features on the DVD that could be skipped without missing out are the table reads which are fun for a few minutes but quickly grow old.
