Stahl will star as Neal Carey, a young pickpocket who is raised by a private investigator to track down a wealthy Manhattan teenage socialite that has run away to London. The film is based on the first of five mystery novels penned by Don Winslow.
Best known for his leading roles in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines," "In The Bedroom," and the HBO series "Carnivale," Stahl can next be seen in the comic book adaptation "Sin City" which is scheduled for an April 1 release. He is represented by ICM.
"Cool Breeze" was adapted by Stuart Zicherman and Raven Metzner, with the latest draft of the script written by Gregory Poirer. Claire Polstein is producing the project along with Angry Film's Don Murphy. Angry Films' Rick Benetar is co-producing. A 2005 production start date is planned.
New Line's production President Toby Emmerich, Executive VP Mark Ordesky, and Creative Executive Jeff Katz are overseeing the project for the studio.
