"Soul Men" (2008)
The story of Louis (Samuel L. Jackson) and Floyd (Bernie Mac), a popular singing duo back in the day who went their separate ways and never spoke again. When the death of their former group leader (John Legend) reunites them and sends them driving cross country for a tribute concert at the legendary Apollo Theatre, they will have only five days to bury the hatchet on a twenty-year-old grudge.
Jackson Recalls Sharing the "Soul Men" Experience with Bernie Mac
Although he's known for playing some bad-ass characters, Samuel L Jackson didn't have any difficulty embracing the singing and dancing required of him in "Soul Men." "I was cool with it. I did musicals in college and theatre in New York. The dance is okay. Plus, most guys at some point in our lives fancy ourselves as one of the Temptations or one of the Pips," admitted Jackson.

Bernie Mac Passes Away at Age 50
(Aug 2008) Comedian/actor/family man Bernie Mac has died at the age of 50 from complications due to pneumonia. Mac was admitted to a Chicago hospital on August 1st and was thought to be doing well enough to be released from the hospital within a few weeks. His death on Saturday, August 9, 2008 came as a shock as it had been reported his condition was not life-threatening.
