No such rivalry existed as Taylor-Compton and Paxton joined their "Sleepover" co-stars and special guests for the movie's June 27, 2004 World Premiere in Hollywood. Here's what the two had to say about working on the coming-of-age film:
SCOUT TAYLOR-COMPTON ('Farrah'):
What would you say was your fondest memory of working on "Sleepover?"
My most fond memory was actually the mannequin scene. We had so much trouble getting those mannequins [dressed], because those mannequins weighed so much. Me and Mika [Boorem] Im a natural blonde so Im like real ditzy and stuff like that, I don't know how to control stuff or whatever and me and Mika got stuck together. And Im trying to hold this mannequin and it weighs so much. Were trying to get these mini, little skirts onto these mannequins so Im like sinking down to the ground, and Mikas like struggling. The head flies off, the arms fall off. It was just awful.
Did they just stick you in there and tell you to go for it?
Yeah, they said go for it at first, and it took us 10 minutes. And Alexa [Vega] and Kallie [Flynn Childress], it took them like 30 seconds. So Joe [Nussbaum] came up to us and hes like, You know, were going to have to choreograph this.
It would have been a 10 minute scene.
Yeah. We got faster after we did it a while.
Do you have any personal sleepover memories?
Yeah, I went and I TPed a guys house. So did Mika. I went and I TPed a guys house and I had so much fun doing it. I did it with my mom (laughing).
With your mom?
With my mom.
Not many people can say that.
Yeah, with my mom, which was really amazing. He never found out. He was mad but he never found out.
Whats up next?
Right now, Im looking at something so hopefully that works out. I just got done after this movie, I did a pilot for Lifetime called Class Actions. Then I had a recurring role on The Guardian. I did that, but then it got cancelled. So that sucks for that.
What type of project really interests you?
You know, I just want to do movies. I love doing movies. I dont want to get stuck on a series or whatever. And I love doing a comedy. I laughed the whole entire time and I would love to do another one. Id love to do several other ones. And I would love to do a drama and all that and action.
SARA PAXTON ('Staci'):
So tell me about your role in Sleepover. Youre not exactly playing the nicest person.
No, not all at. Im playing Staci and shes like the mean queen of the school.
Could you relate to her at all?
I could relate to her by being made fun of by those girls. All those girls in high school
Really?
Im such a dork. Im always in the corner reading Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. People dont believe me but Im not lying to you. Im always in the corner reading Lord of the Rings.
So would you have been one of the girls who sits by the trashcans?
Yeah. At my school, the dork spot is like the pizza spot. And the cool spot was the vending machine area. I never sat at the cool spot.
Do you have any personal sleepover memories?
On the set, actually, all the girls had a sleepover together at a hotel. It was so much fun. We played Twister and it was the day after Halloween so we were on a sugar high.
That sounds kind of scary being in a room with a lot of girls on a sugar high.
(Laughing) I know. I have all these pictures of all the girls with candy wrappers all over them while theyre sleeping.
