America Ferrera on the Emotional Reaction Men are Having to the Movie: "You know, it doesn’t surprise me because it was directed by a man and there were a lot of men on the set who were making the movie with us. The movie wasn’t made to aim it at a certain audience. The director, Ken Kwapis, his goal was to make an honest film. And when something’s honest and when something’s real, it’s very hard to not relate to it as a human being. So I wasn’t surprise that men came out of it feeling surprised that they related. I was laughing. I was saying, 'Yeah, and you didn’t want to go watch it, did you? You didn’t want to go watch a movie called Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.' It’s exciting to see that it did what we set out to do."
On Having Close Friends Like the "Sisterhood" Gang: "No, I don’t. I have four sisters so they’re my sisterhood."
On Upcoming Projects: America Ferrera also has a role in the movie "Lords of Dogtown" which chronicles the story of a group of skateboarders who changed the way we view the sport. Other than that, Ferrera claims she doesn't have anything planned. "I really haven’t committed to any projects now. I’m still a student and just seeing what’s coming my way and hopefully just working on things that I feel so passionately about, like the way that I do about this film."
