The Team of Benicio Del Toro and Quentin Tarantino: The coolest thing is I kept the camera rolling so Ive got a lot of that footage. In fact, theres one 16 minute take where I just kept rolling from the position of the real camera. Its not like behind the scenes. Its the real camera so you get to see the whole process. You see Quentin actually come into frame and give [Benicio and Clive] direction.
It was really chaotic, fun, all over the place. It was just brilliant. People are going to get quite a lot from seeing that. Im going to put that on the DVD. An uninterrupted 16 minutes and you see pieces that we used and you see a lot of in between. And you see Quentin coming in going, No, I think it should be like this. And hes on camera doing it. The effects guys are coming and fixing [Benicios] neck. Its exciting to see [them] be that creative on the spot, and were rolling. Were not cutting. You hear the camera guy, I mean the assistant director go, Were still rolling. You hear the sound guy going, We have to change the battery, while were still rolling.
Other Sin City DVD Extras: We shot the full stories of the books, and I knew we could truncate it down, knowing that we weren't going to lose any scenes. Eventually they would all be available for people to see. So the DVD will come out with the theatrical cut, and then there'll be a separate disc that's got the individual episodes separated with their own title card. You can just watch The Big Fat Kill from beginning to end in its full cut as a single story. And then switch over and watch The Yellow Bastard and that's 45 minutes. It'll have all the material back in. So it'll be like the experience of picking up the book, where you pick up one story and you read it from beginning to end. And it'll have all the material in it. You can shuffle your own version of the movie and just watch them all separately.
Frank Miller and Future Sin City Adventures: [He has] tons of stuff in mind. That was the great thing about having him there on the set is that he could tell us what the future adventures of Nancy were going to be. That shes studying criminology. Thats she going to be a detective. All these kind of things. Youre like, Wow, thats really great for the actors to know. They dont just go off the books, they see where these experiences of the characters are going to lead them. It can help build a really well-rounded character. And hes eager to do some more stuff. He cant wait to go back to it. That was the main reason I didnt want to script the movie because he has If you do a bad movie then you kill the comic as well. Then he wouldnt be able to return to Sin City either. So that was why I was sure before I started because I didnt want to do that to him.
