"Sidewalks of New York" (2001)

Ed Burns' story structure is based on the lines of connection between a group of New Yorkers. Emotional intersections seem almost random at first, but then separate as each story flows together as characters come into conflict and resolution. For all its "run-and-gun" energy, "Sidewalks of New York" reveals itself to be a carefully interwoven "circle of love."
