Interview with Writer/Director Joss Whedon at the Premiere of "Serenity"
Joss Whedon has a huge group of devoted fans thanks, in large part, to two of his creations. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and its spin-off, "Angel," helped Whedon achieve a cult status that's almost unparalleled.But even his ardent fans couldn't convince a network to give his "Firefly" series a chance. Cancelled after just a few weeks, the fans weren't about to let the series go quietly into the night. Their efforts paid off as Universal Studios gave the go-ahead to a movie based on the show.
