I hope so, yeah (laughing). I hope I would have heard about it, maybe, and wanted to go see it. Absolutely, yeah.
What are you looking for in a script now?
Oh God, thats so difficult. Its so different with each and every one. I really like doing independent stuff. Ive had some really good experiences. Id like to do a period piece. Id like to be able to find something that I could just completely delve into. Something like a period piece or an action film, something that is so unlike who I am that it would require a lot of research and just a lot of work outside of working on the script and being on the location.
So Heather Matarazzo talked to you for two years about this script. You never wanted to read it during that time?
No, because there were other people attached to the movie. I just remember her saying, Oh, Im going down to Florida now to do this film Saved. Oh no, it got cancelled. Again, I was always like, Saved the drama. I didnt think like Saved! the really insanely hilarious, crazy, kooky film that it is.
Heres a gossipy question for you, is there a rivalry between you and your singer/actress contemporaries?
I have no rivalries. Im not fighting anyone. You meet people I met all the young Hollywood girls last year when we all did that Vanity Fair cover and they were so sweet. I felt so old. Everyone is like 16 or 17, and Im used to feeling like the young one around. I felt like a mother hen (laughing).
