Mark Ruffalo Eyes Role in "The Brass Wall"

David Kocieniewski's book "The Brass Wall" is going to get the big screen treatment courtesy of Phoenix Pictures.

Phoenix Pictures optioned the book, which focuses on an undercover cop who exposes police corruption in New York, as a starring vehicle for Mark Ruffalo.

Mike Medavoy and Arnie Messer will produce the crime drama. Phoenix Pictures hasn't yet named a director or screenwriter.

Mark Ruffalo just wrapped work on "All the King's Men" with Sean Penn and "Rumor Has It" with Jennifer Aniston. Ruffalo's currently busy on the David Fincher serial killer film, "Zodiac."
