"Robots" on DVD

20th Century Fox Home Video

The Bottom Line

I didn't expect to like "Robots." The trailers did nothing for me and I didn't really believe I'd feel a connection to a bunch of robots. But this cute, fast-paced animated film was a pleasant surprise. And it's one kids will want to watch over and over and over again (I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing...)

Guide Review - "Robots" DVD Review

Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Robin Williams and Amanda Bynes are just a few of the stars who provide the voices for the animated family movie, "Robots."

The story of one small town robot with big dreams, "Robots" follows our hero, Rodney Cooperbottom (McGregor), the beloved son of working class parents. Rodney wants to be an inventor and he knows the best place to make his mark would be in Robot City. Once there, Rodney figures he can arrange a meeting with Mr. Bigweld - the world's most famous inventor.

But things don't go as planned. Bigweld's no longer running his own company. Instead the evil Ratchet has taken over and wants all lower class robots to be replaced (that would be Rodney, his family, and the new friends he makes in Robot City).

Can one little guy stand up to corporate evil? Will Rodney and his buddies be tossed on the trash heap? It's worth checking out "Robots" to find out the answers.
