Guide Review - Ratatouille DVD Review
The StoryRemy - a rat - has only one goal in life: to be a chef. This isn't a livelihood his rat brothers and sisters can get behind, so he has to secretly sneak out to follow his dream. Remy winds up at the famous Gusteau's Restaurant where he befriends a hapless chef who has no talent in the kitchen whatsoever. Together, the unusual, unlikely twosome cook up delicious meals without any of the restaurant's patrons or staff any the wiser.
The Bonus Features
Fans of full-length commentary tracks will be disappointed by the lack of one on the Ratatouille DVD. However, the 'Fine Food and Film: A Conversation with Brad Bird and Thomas Keller' does help fill the void. This interesting featurette shows the collaboration between Ratatouille's director and the master chef. Also included on the DVD is a fun short film with a catchy tune at the end about the history of rats titled 'Your Friend the Rat'. Three deleted scenes are on the DVD, none of which would have added much to the film had they been left in.
Pixar's Lifted short about teenage aliens is also on the Ratatouille DVD as well as a couple of Easter Eggs. Check out the pots on the menu for other possible film titles and a 'Ro-Dead Ratkiller' ad.
