The Western is based on the book "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," written by Robert Hansen. The book tells the story of gunslinger Jesse James and the young, tormented gang member Robert Ford who gunned down Jesse James in cold blood. Ford was labeled a coward and lived out the remainder of his days in disgrace.
Filming is expected to begin sometime later this year. There's no word yet on who will play Robert Ford.
