Guide Review - "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" DVD Review

Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and most of the other familiar "Pirates" faces returned for the second film of the "Pirates" trilogy. And just like its predecessor, this Disney action adventure romp blew its box office competition out of the water. Although this second film of the series isn't as fun or as light-hearted as the first, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" apparently didn't disappoint the original film's die-hard fans as this sequel made off with over one billion dollars worldwide during its run in theaters.

The Story

The film starts off with Will and Elizabeth's wedding day being forcibly postponed when East India Trading Co executive Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander) locks up the would-be bride and groom for their roles in helping Captain Jack Sparrow escape the hangman's noose. But all hope isn't lost for the handsome couple to live long and happy lives together. Will's offered a shot at saving Elizabeth's life if he can beat his buddy Captain Jack to finding the key that will unlock a chest containing something hugely important to Davy Jones, the master of the sea.

Meanwhile Captain Jack has issues of his own to deal with. The time has come for Sparrow to pay off a debt he owes to Davy Jones and Captain Jack, more than anything, doesn't want to make good on the deal he made years prior with the creepy Jones (played by Bill Nighy).
