Inside the Make-Up of 'Bootstrap Bill': "I carry around quite a dominant statement on my face all the time, dont I, and I have to get sort of find a way to not be upstaged by my own face. Working on the make-up, we talked about how to find a general expression that I could work with so it has also a sort of sadness to it."
Playing a Part in a Movie Loaded with Effects and CGI Characters: "You dont think of it when you actually do it. Even if theres a lot of special effects, when you work on it basically all the concentration is about the acting. Because, just like in the first one, this is a blockbuster movie that actually is character-driven. [Director] Gore Verbinski is very careful about creating an atmosphere with the actors where the actors can actually act. So you dont see all the technical side of it as an obstacle."
Working with Director Verbinski: "Its great working with him. Hes very collaborative. You try things out and you discuss the text and you discuss how to do it. Its wonderful."
The Tone of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest vs. The Curse of the Black Pearl: Asked how the second film differs from the first, Skarsgard said, "I dont know. I would probably say that its a little rougher ride this time."
