"Phantom of the Opera" Movie Synopsis: "Phantom of the Opera" is based on the Andrew Lloyd Webber play set in 19th century Paris and centers around a masked figure (Gerard Butler) who haunts the Opera Populaire. He tutors a young soprano, Christine (Emmy Rossum), who then becomes Paris' most popular opera singer. The Phantom believes he's found his true love until Christine's childhood boyfriend shows up.
