Hot off his critically acclaimed starring role in the action drama Children of Men, Clive Owen has committed to lead the cast of another action film. Owen will star in The International for Columbia Pictures.
Perfume director Tom Tykwer will helm The International. Newcomer Eric Singer wrote the screenplay for the film which is set to begin filming this September.
According to Variety, the story centers around an Interpol agent investigating corruption in the banking industry. Charles Roven, Richard Suckle and Lloyd Phillips are producing the film.
Clive Owen will next be seen in Shoot 'Em Up with Paul Giamatti. If things go according to plan, Owen will also have a role in Robert Rodriguez' Sin City 2.
