Answer: Adrien Brody's portrayal of Wladyslaw Szpilman in "The Pianist" earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor in 2002 at the age of 29 years and 343 days. The record had been held by Richard Dreyfuss who took home the Best Actor Oscar in 1977 for "The Goodbye Girl." At the time of his win, Dreyfuss was 30 years and 156 days old.
