Serratos had just arrived in Vancouver and was trapped in the airport waiting to get through Customs when we spoke on the phone. The 18 year old California actress had that 'airports suck' voice going on, which was totally understandable being that she'd been cooped up there for two+ hours. Despite being held...well...not captive but close enough by the airport powers that be, she braved her way through a few New Moon and Eclipse questions while patiently waiting her turn to escape the airport.
Christian Serratos Interview
Will we be seeing more of the 'humans' in Eclipse the movie than we did in Eclipse the book?Christian Serratos: "Yeah. We get in there a little bit more each movie, so it's really pretty fun. We're stoked to start filming. Hopefully we can do number three and then have fun with four."
The high school kids are actually in Stephenie Meyer's New Moon book quite a bit. Does that carryover to the movie?
Christian Serratos: "Yes. I think you're going to get what you expected from the book. But I don't know how people will react to it – I think they'll like it."
How was filming New Moon and working with director Chris Weitz?
Christian Serratos: "It was great. Each film we're going to have a new director, which I think is really cool. Each movie is kind of progressively getting darker and more intense, so they're finding new directors to mesh with each film perfectly. They're finding the right people."
But is it difficult in that you and the rest of the returning cast know these characters, maybe better than the new directors? Is that ever an issue?
Christian Serratos: "No, not really. We do know our characters, we're slowly getting more comfortable with who we're playing and stuff, but the directors come in and they do know the characters because that's their job. They've done their homework and they know what they're working on. And everyone's really nice. That's the thing. You're working with great people and we're working with great directors who are all very understanding and very cool."
"They're all going to be very different to work with. I think that's good when it comes to this saga because each book feels completely different."
Have you had a chance to talk to Eclipse director David Slade yet?
Christian Serratos: "I haven't talked to David at all yet – at all. So it's gong to be pretty cool to meet him. He's really talented."
What was it like dealing with fans on the set of New Moon? It had to be even crazier than the first movie.
Christian Serratos: "Yeah, I think everyone's just kind of leaching onto it more and more. There was definitely a lot more people there at the New Moon set. I expect there's gong to be a whole lot more at this set."
How do you ever find private time for yourself?
Christian Serratos: "It's not that hard. Once we get back to our hotel, we relax with each other or take time to ourselves if we need it. They have spas in the hotel so those are pretty cool! I've never gotten a professional massage in my life so I might go do that."
You knew Twilight was popular when you first signed on, but was there any way to be prepared for what it's become?
Christian Serratos: "I read the books and I just thought, 'Oh, hey, cool. I'm working on a movie.' [laughing] It kind of like slowly came into realization just how big the fandom was and what a massive thing we were doing."
No regrets about being a part of this crazy franchise?
Christian Serratos: "Oh no way. I would not not have done Twilight. No, it's just been too fun. I've been having way too much fun on it."
And you were originally considering taking on a different part in the series...
Christian Serratos: "Yeah, but I ended up meshing with Angela. I just liked that character better and it worked out for me. You're playing these people so you have to get to know them. Being an actor I did my research and I read the books and all that. And I looked to see what people had to say because this is definitely a fan movie so you have to make the fans happy."
Being that you're a part of a franchise that's feeding into this vampire craze, what's your take on why we're so fascinated with vampires?
Christian Serratos: "Well these vampires are described as being the most beautiful things on the planet, so of course there's going to be an attraction and a desire to be with them."
Were you into vampires before taking on Twilight?
Christian Serratos: "Oh yeah. My mom and her friend used to always watch Interview with a Vampire and me and my friend used to always try and sneak and watch it. Because they were like, 'You guys are going to be too scared. Don't watch it.' And we'd always find a way."
Have you heard anything about a script for Breaking Dawn or when they are aiming to shoot it?
Christian Serratos: "No idea. I heard that they're going to be splitting it into a couple of movies*, so that's going to be cool if they do that. But I really have no information on that other than I can't wait to do that if they do!"

* - Just to clarify, Eclipse cast member Boo Boo Stewart ('Seth Clearwater') also gave an interview indicating Breaking Dawn would be split in two. However, Summit Entertainment has said those comments are incorrect. They are still working on how best to bring Breaking Dawn to the big screen.
