The Bottom Line

Okay, so "National Treasure" takes a lot of liberties with America's history. And yes, there are a few plot points that don't make a lot of sense. But overall "National Treasure" is a fun romp set amidst America's historic landmarks.

Guide Review - "National Treasure" DVD Review

Nicolas Cage stars as Benjamin Franklin Gates, a modern-day treasure hunter who comes from a long line of treasure hunters. In "National Treasure," Gates is searching for the legendary treasure of the Knights Templar. The hunt for the priceless treasure leads Gates and his sidekick Riley (Justin Bartha) to steal the Declaration of Independence and pits them against wealthy businessman Ian Howe (Sean Bean) who wants the treasure for himself.

THE BONUS FEATURES

"National Treasure" is loaded with bonus features, from an alternate ending to multiple behind-the-scenes featurettes on the making of "National Treasure." The DVD also includes a "National Treasure" Logbook so that viewers can go on a treasure hunt of their own, searching through the bonus features for clues in order to access a special bonus level.
